Located in Group 11 and Period 6 of the Periodic Table is our favorite topic ( and things ) : a shiny, yellowish nice things that makes you rich! This is Gold.
There was one era in the States called Gold Rush, where many people flocked to California in search of Gold. It was indeed an exciting experience for the Americans. Americans either found gold or found nothing at all. Although many people claimed to have discovered Gold, the credit still goes to James W. Marshall.
Sutter Creek |
James was actually overseeing a construction of a sawmill on the American River when he unexpectedly saw a shiny object in the Sutter Creek near Coloma, California. He notified his nation and eventually the place got famous. People from everywhere went to find gold. Some people got very rich and some people stayed the same.
Although Gold was to be believed to be existing at Ancient Egypt around 3000 B.C where was believed that human have interaction with gold at that time. Sarcophagus |
Gold is usually alloyed with Silver, Copper, Platinum or Palladium, to, of course, increase its strength. And, of course, it would be very expensive.
Gold is the rarest element in the universe, which contains 0.004 parts per million, followed by Platinum, which is 0.005 parts per million, then Silver, which is 0.075 parts per million. ( Please do not get confused with Minecraft... we know you can find Gold anywhere in Minecraft but you cannot find much in real life... accept the reality... )
Golden Everything |
Besides, Gold is also one of the ten rarest element of the earth crust, which is estimated to have 0.005 parts per million. However, Gold is to be believed that there might be a possibility that 70 million tons ( 63502931800 kg ) of Gold might be dissolved in the seawater.
We can actually find 0.2 milligrams of Gold in our body, which I do not recommend you killing people for Gold... but yes... there are actually traces of Gold in our body, perhaps even there are small traces of Gold found in Eucalyptus Trees.
